FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, DALLAS, TX
PDNB Gallery starts the summer season with a small group exhibition in the John Albok Gallery. Continuing in the main galleries will be EYES OF TEXAS.
The characteristic group summer show usually involves a theme or provides a venue for showcasing unknown talent. This particular exhibition does not follow either trend. BLENDER will feature exceptional works by established artists with no apparent theme. The title, BLENDER, is used to convey a more complex message that art can be the active ingredient of alchemy, resulting in a possible new way of thinking.
The exhibition will highlight a photograph by Esteban Pastorino Díaz from his bullring series, Las Ventas. Thomas Ruff, one of the famous German photographers from the Düsseldorf Academy, will be featured, as well as Spanish Surrealist, Chema Madoz.
Other artists included in this gem of a show are Nic Nicosia, Neil Slavin and Robyn Stacey who have been exhibited at PDNB Gallery in the past.
George Krause Portrait Session:
During the opening reception George Krause will be in the gallery to photograph visitors. A random selection of people will have the opportunity to participate in his continuing Sfumato portrait series. Examples can be seen on our website from his Sfumato exhibition in 2007,
George Krause: Sfumato Portraits
The portrait sitter is placed in a mirrored box that creates something like a halo effect from all the reflecting light. The resulting image is unlike all traditional portraits one has seen.
Appointments can be made with the gallery for sittings on Saturday 11 am – 5 pm.
During the opening reception from 5-8 pm, visitors will be selected randomly.
