For the remainder of the summer PDNB Gallery is pulling works out of their "crypt" to illustrate PDNB's diverse inventory.
Included in this show is an eclectic group of photographs by unknown artists. The photographs include small carte postales (photographic post cards) from the early 20th Century and Studio portraits from late 19th Century to mid 20th Century.
Also in this mix of vernacular photographs are crime scene images. Ten years ago PDNB exhibited, "Scene of the Crime". Some of that photograph collection will be seen again in this show. These are photojournalist's images of mobsters and morbid details of murder scenes. Also featured are some great early 20th Century mug shots of criminals.

Randal Ford's portraits of cows borrow from the 1960's Pop Art Movement. They are a refreshing take on Andy Warhol's silk screens of Marilyn Monroe, Jacqueline Onasis and other celebrities. Malijevsky's photographs convey the poetic mystery of the Eastern European Czech Republic.
This mix of fine art, photojournalism, and vernacular photography represents the philosophy of the gallery that visual art has a vast arena to draw from. In the last decade vernacular photography has increased its collector base, while Photojournalism has also been given the due respect of collector's world wide. A lot of changes have occurred in photography collecting over the last 15 years since PDNB opened. This particular summer show is a salute to the increased awareness of the medium of photography in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and around the world.
