PDNB Gallery

ESTEBAN PASTORINO : 3D
November 10 - December 30, 2006

PDNB Gallery will present this artists second solo exhibition in Dallas. Since his first exhibition in 2004, Esteban Pastorino Diaz's (born 1972, Buenos Aires) career has soared. His work has been added to the collections of several notable U.S. museums including the Art Institute of Chicago, the Santa Barbara Art Museum and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. He is featured in the newly released book, Vitamin Ph: New Perspectives in Photography by Phaidon Press. This book features a current international survey of the newest developments in contemporary photography in the last five years.

The entire exhibition space at PDNB gallery will be exclusively devoted to Esteban Pastorino's creations. The first gallery will feature 2006 aerial photographs from Spain. Some of these images include Spaghetti Western movie sets that survived as tourist attractions in Almeria, Spain. This subject is the perfect foil for unknowing viewers because the old west buildings look so much like miniature sets for a child's western fantasy. Esteban is always playing with the children's toys, and fooling the viewer's eye.

The next gallery will feature panoramic images that stretch 61 inches wide. One photograph features a marathon race with figures scurrying across the image. Another panorama was taken in Japan last year showing the frenetic pace of Tokyo.

The media gallery will reveal the artist's original, dimensional vision. In this "3-D room" you will be provided 3-D glasses to view panoramic photographs in light boxes and also a visual projection that, by arrangement of various gadgets, show 3-D images.

Opening reception is Friday, November 10, 2006 from 6 - 8 PM.
