Photographs Do Not Bend Gallery is featuring the 1960's photographs of New York photographer, Don Donaghy, and the contemporary photographs of Texas photographer, Keith Carter, throughout November.
Don Donaghy is considered to be part of the New York School, which included notable artists such as Diane Arbus, Alexey Brodovitch, Lisette Model, Bruce Davidson, and Richard Avedon. Don Donaghy, along with Robert Frank and George Krause, were known for capturing the urban "street scenes" of New York City. Don Donaghy's photographs are included in several museum collections: Corcoran Gallery of Art, Museum of Modern Art, George Eastman House and the New York City Library.
Keith Carter will be in the gallery on November 3rd from 6 pm to 8 pm to sign copies of his new book, Ezekiel's Horse, which is his eighth monograph. This book is solely devoted to portraits of horses. Selected photographs from this book will be on exhibit in the small gallery. Keith Carter's photographs have gained national and international exposure and have been featured in numerous publications. Keith Carter's photographs are included in the collections of the Dallas Museum of Art, Amon Carter Museum of Art, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and many more prestigious museum collections.
